I like blue because (on my MINI anyway) the lighting on the doors is brighter and the center downlight is dimmer, more moonlit in appearance. Orange is cool too but is the exact opposite...less bright on the doors and very bright in center. If I wanted that for some reason, I'd switch to orange, but for now blue is working for me. The purples/pinks are all in-between so I suppose there is a theoretical middle ground that's desirable...I just like the intensity on the doors that blue offers. Also, I think blue is a nice compliment to, and doesn't compete with, the orange gauge lighting.
go - Would you be open to the possibilty that you might have overthought this?
I like the blue. I'm considering trying out the orange.
I tend to stay away from the in-between purpllish - pinkish colors, mostly because I'm male ;-)
I'd like to be able to shut off the ambient lighting completely. It's bad enough everyone can see how fast I'm going and what radio station I'm listening to. The less light in the car the better.
I set it on BLUE as soon as I figured it out and there it will stay (and I can't remember how it is set now anyway, and I'm not about to bother looking it up ). IMO it's a silly LITTLE feature and I wouldn't pay ten cents for it if it was an option.

Well, just as the name suggests, it depends upon the mood! Wish there was a better choice of colors, however. I'm a little disappointed because I can't really see much of a difference in the oranges to pink range. What about green? Don't you ever have a yellow mood??? And, no, if this was an option, I seriously doubt I would have included it in the car.
It seems blue is popular with the guys. I read somewhere that blue light is a subliminal turn on for guys.... (Not that we need blue candle lights in restaurants on a date or anything)
