Originally had mine set to orange so that it matched the rest of the lighting, but switched it over to blue recently - LOVE the effect.

As for colour, blue all the way for us too! Anything bordering on pink is simply proposterous!

I prefer to match the gauges. I'm an old school BMW guy, I like the orange glow.

Purplish-pink. Go figure, this is the one thing that EVERYONE has noticed when they first see my car. I didn't even know about changing it until 2 weeks into it. I do wish there was a green n yellow option, and an off option . And I wish we could change or choose the color of the displays. Orange is too infernal looking IMO.

I'd use orange - to match the dash lighting - but it's too bright. So, I'm on the second or third stop up from blue.

Blue...it's a nice compliment to the orange. Orange was too bright and the rest were almost too low to even be noticed.

I agree that it would be nice if the color of all the dash lights would change...I'm used to all that orange now but, if I had the option, I think I'd change it. My BF (an avid Audi owner) thinks all that orange is too bright anyway and makes it hard to see at night. I haven't noticed that though...

That's odd that the orange is too bright, on mine the blue is by far the brightest.

Mine is set on blue btw.

gjhsu--how did you get purple on the side light? I only have blue there.

On the two overheadlights I like purple, but it's hard to get the exact shade I want.

I didn't, I found those pictures off a review on the interwebs. I don't know if it's a US-spec car or a Euro-spec car they tested, sorry

turning off the ambient lighting

I read somewhere on the internet that the ambient lighting can be turned off, but I can't find that in my manual. Is this true, and if so, then how?

Now there's a mod for the MINI -- have sensors in the steering wheel that sense your mood and adjust the ambient lighting to match.

I like the Orange it matches the speedo and all. And it just feels more upscale I guess. I use the second "click" from the first orange because the first orange does not show up well on the black doors so the second one is a tad brighter on the doors.

Does anyone know what color is in the BMW's? I had a friend who had an 07' 3 series but dont remember the color, I belive its orange? She had some in her backseat, Ha Ha Ha verry funny. There was four of us in the car and I was sitting in the backseat.

how does the interior actually look at night time. I have found 1 video on youtube that doesn't depict it well. Does anyone have any photos of the interior at night in the dark...as in not under a street lamp?
