Chili Red Car Paint Maintenance
Hi all!
I'm a new mini one R56 owner. My car's color is chillyred.Heard that red car is hardest to maintain,in terms of looking gorgeous and shiny like jus out frm car showroom.
Could anyone share how to maintain the paintcoat of my mini baby in tip top showroom condition?![tongue](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks in advance!

my ex brother in law has used this for years.
for years i refused to believe him.
mostly denial over the idea that i would have a fairly
high up front cost, and the bottles are small.
i started the mini on this from the first month.
"unbelievable"
is the only way to describe it.

The first thing I did to my Chilli red Mini is to ensure that the dealer did not prep the car. I then washed it with a good car soap. I then applied a coat of Klasse All In One acrylic polish. I then applied a coat of Klasse sealent, and finished up with a Carnuba waxing. This is a 2 day effort but well worth it initially. It will easily last a year and only requires the normal washing. Mine is still beading after 8 months. Great stuff

Agreed, I had called Classic Motoring Accessories and they had recommended the Menzerna products on my MINI. Well I'm a huge believer and it's all I use now on any car I detail. Here are some shots of my Chili Red MCS.

For an awesome shine and a product that REALLY lasts, I've never been able to beat Zaino. You can buy it at http://www.zainostore.com/. I use it on my wife's red Mustang, and on my BRG MCS and it works wonders...

Whatever brand products you use to detail your car (and all have their supporters), the most important thing I have found is only using microfiber towels on your finish. Red is very prone to swirlies and light scratches and cotton towels will inflict that over time. My all red JCW is now 6 months old with over 10K miles. It's developing a "patina" of wear on it, but still no swirlies since only microfiber touches it. I've been using a combination of Menzerna, Wolfgang, and Meguiars products.

Looking at results around the MINI community Prima rocks, Zaino and Griot's seem to do a very good job as well
Read up, ask questions, seek out a mental health professional cause you'll need it (what a way to go)

Just wondering, in the olden days (yea, Im a old fart) it was always suggested that paint should "cure" a few months before applying first coat of wax. Just picked up my new 2011 Chili Red MCS and was wondering if it'd be ok to go ahead and put a good coat of wax on her.......... (I've already waxed the hood stripes. I saw what washer fluid will do to them)
