iPod adapter and podcasts
Dear NAMsters,
I have an '07 MCS with the iPod adapter. I connect a fairly new 2nd gen iPod Nano that I use to listen to podcasts on the way to/from work. Each podcast is from 20-60 minutes long. I never end up listening to music on my iPod, just podcasts.
When I connect the iPod to the cable (in the secret compartment), the screen lights up and I get the MINI logo. When I get to where I'm going, I always turn off the audio "stuff" by pressing the audio on/off volume control, then I stop the engine and remove the fob; I never just turn off the engine and pop out the fob leaving the audio on.
My question is this: it seems that every time I turn the audio/iPod back on after starting the engine, the podcast starts up at a different point than I left it. Does anyone else get this behavior?
I do know that when I disconnect the iPod and navigate to that same podcast, the position in the audio in the iPod is different than in the iPod interface. This means that I can't find out where I stopped listening by looking at the iPod; nor can I position the start back to where it should be by using the iPod controls.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to use the MINI audio controls to scan quickly into an iPod audio track the way you can with the iPod controls? If so, I sure can't find it in the iPod Interface document (dated 2/2007).
Thank you, in advance.
