So I just drove with the headlights on for about 30 minutes and I did not see any noticeable reaction with the paint on the metal center lamp cap with the heat

i set out today to do my bi-xenon headlights but i failed...for some reason beyond me i cant figure out how to get the bi-xenon bulb OUT of the housing! can anyone help me?! i had both of my headlights out, both turning signal bulbs out, but couldn't get the actual headlight bulb out ...help please!!! i want to do the joey mod! i bought gloss black paint and red gloss paint. i plan to paint the housing around the headlight bulb red and the rest of the headlight black...ill get pics up as soon as i can get the stupid bulb out!!!

thanks i will deffinatly post pictures. im sad i didnt get to do it. i plan on doing my headlights like yours except the part that was blue on yours i plan to do red...i sort of have a black/DS/red theme going on with my MINI...and again Celia i appreciate your help!

It looks good, but I don't think your indicators are going to work anymore (or at least they won't be as bright and scattered)
Have you driven at night yet to see if it's a problem?

I was thinking the same thing, but the turn indicator bulb does not have a shroud so the reflector isn't nearly as important with an exposed bulb. Cool!

Is clear coat necessary for the blue ring? Planning on doing this soon. Does it not look glossy like the rest of the car without the clear coat spray?
