My thought is that it is a metal piece for a reason, mainly because it is so close to the actual lamp. The rest is plastic with a chrome coating so it must not be subject to the same temperatures than the metal shroud right next to the lamp. I was planning to use krylon satin black for the plastic parts and a high temp paint for BBQ grills for the metal shroud. I also thought with my black/red color scheme that I might do the shroud in red. Now that would be evil looking.
Whats the worst that can happen with the krylon plastic paint with heat on metal?
So I just drove with the headlights on for about 30 minutes and I did not see any noticeable reaction with the paint on the metal center lamp cap with the heat

What to you think??
It looks good, but I don't think your indicators are going to work anymore (or at least they won't be as bright and scattered)
Have you driven at night yet to see if it's a problem?
I was thinking the same thing, but the turn indicator bulb does not have a shroud so the reflector isn't nearly as important with an exposed bulb. Cool!
