R56 Headlight adjustment not HID
#3
Somewhere on NAM, there are instructions and pictures on how to adjust the headlights. Mine are too low also. I took several clockwise turns on the adjustment screws and I can't tell that it made any difference, so I'm going to get the dealer to adjust them the next time I'm there.

I will keep searching.
Where are the adjustment screws?
My local billybob has that machine you put on the
headlights so I can have them checked when
my wife's car gets the timing belt.
But I dont need a $50 billybob bill right now and I
certainly don't need anything broken given that he
has to figure it out for the first time on my car.

As a side note, what is the name of the tool
that you use to adjust the fog lights? They point
at the ground too. I realize they are supposed to be
low. But, they point directly at the ground.
The screw is not torx. Its like....5 sided as far
as I can tell.
I don't know the name of such a thing to ask for it
or look online.
Thanks

I used a phillips head screw driver. I don't know this for a fact, but I read in the headlight thread that the same adjusting screw applied to all headlights, xenon and otherwise.

That pic is exactly what I needed.
THANKS
Double and triple homer simpson "doh" on me
for the allen wrench. I only have about 80 of them.
But you know how it is when you get it in your mind
that its some exotic BMW produced only released
to the dealer tool.......
If the dealer were down the street or across town I'd
go have them tweek it up just a fraction. But its 120 miles.
I don't think it needs much of an adjustment. I am going to
make sure I don't over adjust them too high.

My driver side headlight was pointed up too high, every time I pulled into the garage I could see it was about 3 to 4 inches higher than the other side. I adjusted it today using that white plastic screw located behind the headlight assembly, it's pretty easy to do and can be done using a flat head screwdriver.
