Brain's car is an r53 The r53 can definitely get to the high HP numbers. I was just saying that the R56 has gotten to 270 as well

why even ask the question. you are asking what cars you can beat. the point of a race is to find out who is faster anyway so if you know the conclusion beforehand why even bother. do you want to choose who you race so you can beat them and feel tough? i go to the drag strip almost bi-weekly not so i can see what times i can put but rather just for the fun of it. i raced a 500hp mr2 in the 8th this past weekend i knew he was gonna beat me (he put down a crappy for him 7.06) ut was still fun as hell though.

Cooper makes a good H stock car in auto cross. MCS makes a good GS car. They are both good in their classes due to good handling.

It is not about the car as much as it is about the driver...in other words sign up for a track event and figure out what you can do behind the wheel of your car.

sorry Rally i have to admit i have had a lot to drink tonight but to just restate my opinion no matter what car you drive its more about you, your nerves, and how far you you will take your car to the envelope. You can wipe the floor with a soccer mom in a bmw m3 but won't even come close to a 16year-old in a civic hatch.(this example is more a statement about maturity i think) but Creeve is right go race, find out for your self

Ok, ok. But that's just one. How many cars do we know of that are 250+ whp on the R56 side .

I'm just giving people a hard time, I don't personally like the look of the R56, but they're darn quick stock .

Answer questions about what? He wants to know if he can beat his buddies car in a stoplight race, it's a freakin MINI, not a dragster, who cares. You can go to any website and look up performance figures for various cars, none of that means anything in the real world. In a race where? Doing what? I've lapped 996 turbo's on the track, who do you think would win off the line? .

Questions like this are silly, a stock MCS isn't fast at all, it's acceleration figures are average at best. There's probably a list of 100 cars that you could take off the line, and an even bigger one of cars that would kick the living crap out of it, so what exactly are we talking about? The OP didn't give any information other than the fact that he wants to race stuff (Assumingly on public streets).

A Cooper beating a Prius in a race is not BS.

Give it time...back in 02 and 03 the concept of getting an r53 past 200 was incredibly rare. People were just testing out pullies and afraid to go for 19% over the 15%. You didn't start seeing 200+ cars for a while after that.

It's impressive that an r56 is already getting those numbers on a pretty simple mod list only a year after the car's release. Give them 6 years of part development like the r53 has and get some of the people willing to push the boundaries under the hood and who knows what they'll come up with.

I'm just giving people a hard time, I don't personally like the look of the R56, but they're darn quick stock .
Yah i know....just figured I would point it out, cause I know you're interested in that stuff

I think a good number of people have answered. The answer being that it will matter on which type of race and the skill level of each driver. Throw an amazing driver in there and it could win at the SCCA nationals against all the other cars in the HS class. Drag race against someone who can't shift well and you could probably beat a VW GTi.....there are just way too many factors that go into it to answer any more specifically than saying....it will depend on the driver and the type of race.

If you go based strictly off of 0-60 numbers....of the cars you're likely to see

You will lose to:
Toyota Celica GTS
VW GTi + Jetta
VW R32
Saturn Ion
Subaru WRX and Sti
Acura TL
RX8
Mitsu Lance Evo
Audi A4 + TT
Dodge SRT4
Ford Focus SVT
Ford Mustang
Honda Civic Si
Hyundai Tiburon
BMW's
Mazda 6
Pontiac Vibe + Grand prix + Solstice
Pt Cruiser GT (turbo)

You can beat:
Kia's
Non-SVT Ford Focus (it'd be close)
Geo's
Honda Civic EX (2000)
Hyundai Accent + Sonata
Mazda 3
PT Cruiser (non turbo)
