There's a thread about this somewhere. Amazing how many logos have the "MINI wings"

It's a very common design theme, don't assume it's been "borrowed".

I just checked the Steak n Shake web page and it looks like Steak n Shake began in 1934.

It just goes to show there's no accounting for bad taste. The logo is about the only thing they have going for them.

No kidding - I ate there *once*, and I actually thought to myself "this can't be how this is supposed to taste..."

Never went back again to find out (and don't plan to).

Twice a year, I come to Indianapolis with a group of volunteers to work on the next couple of issues of a quarterly magazine for high school sports umpires and referees.

We have a running joke about walking down to the Steak and Shake in downtown Indy. But we never go there. I first time I came here, I went in because it was open late at night and it was bright and clean. It went downhill from there, both in food taste and in the friendliness of the servers.

Do they have some in California, or have you been to another state? We don't have any in Oregon. Oh, and what are you doing up this early, or late?

I can't remember, but it was early in my Navy career, so it would have been in Florida or North Carolina. There aren't any in the western U.S. as far as I know. And I'm up late because it's the weekend. If I don't have a hard-set schedule, I'm actually kind of a night owl.
