on the 07's I believe they are H13's. I wouldnt recommend putting in an HID system though. The reflective housing for your headlights are designed for a halogen bulb. If you just drop in HID bulbs and ballasts in your car your just going to blind people.

H7's and H13's are halogen bulbs, not HID.
MINIs take D2R HID (factory Xenon) bulbs for 2001 - 2004, D2S for 2005-2006,
I believe D2S for 2007+ as well.

why would you want to swap them out? I would assume they are under warranty. Unless you just want to change the color.

On my 2008 the bulbs are D1S, which is an important distinction as it's less common than the D2S bulbs.

Replacements are available on ebay in the 6000k color temp which should add the touch of blue you're going for. Anything higher in color temp will be overkill.

Good luck - for future reference, Osram/Sylvania has a complete automotive lamp replacement guide that's been my default go-to for bulb information since I got my first car. Check it out: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

Good Sylvania link there. I had tried the Osram and Philips sites and couldn't get the 2008 data.
