R56 Did you receive anything from MINI after purchase?

A little over two months since delivery here. The only thing the dealer promised me (and they gave us nothing free when we purchased) was a subscription to MC2 magazine. I checked today with the publisher, and the dealer never submitted anything.
I also called MINI USA, and they had no request from the dealer (I guess that's how it happens) to send us a Welcome Kit. The guy on the phone was great and said he would order one for us today.

Hi.
After 4 months of picking up the car, finally the welcome kit arrived. Might be a bit different from what you get, it had a magazine (seeems booring) a letter from dealer, and an ipod shuffle 1gb, at least it was green to match Cuman's color (BRG). and other useless pieces of glossy paper.
Regards

Clubman Kit
Adventure kit came today, right at six weeks after delivery. Mouse pad, excellent pen, Motoring journal (glad I didn't buy the MINI set or the Clubman one, but I did buy a brown leather one from WalllyWorld that's already in use), the decoder stuff, and window things. Oh, and the Clubman boot badge... Anyone actually stuck that on their boot?

I guess it depends on your sales person AND dealer. My sales experience was truly fantatsic. I bought my MINI through a German MINI dealer which offered a MILItary discount. Take the cost of any MINI and minus 2100 dollars. They through in front and rear floor mats, a bottle of chamgane (spelling) and 2 really neat MINI key chains. The experience was pleasurable, I just love going to the BMW/MINI dealer, its like toy r us for me but a lot more expensive

I didn't realize my '08 MCS didn't come with mats until I got home from the dealer. Did you guys receive them in the mail or ask your MA while you were still at the dealership. I took delivery about 3 weeks ago.. think its too late to go back and ask for some free mats??
PS.. still waiting on my Adventure Kit, but my MA said it was on its way.. super excited!

When we were test driving I asked about how negotiable the price was and my MA said that it was $175 above MSRP but that included our choice of floor mats and a full tank of gas. Well I would have expected the gas no matter what. Anyways, during the process of placing the order he asked us which mats we wanted and they were in the car when I picked it up.

I bought mine at MSRP.. that must be why I wasnt offered any mats.

Nope. The $175>MSRP was a thieve-job. It appears that the "extras" you get depend on the benevolence of your MA and the dealer, along with how bold you choose to be. And, sorry pwr56girl, it's too late to ask.

Not to digress from the original topic, but I was OK with the $175. The next closest dealership is an additional 200 miles away. I had asked my brother who works for the Mercedes division of the same dealership if there was any kind of friends and family discount for MINIs like there are for Mercedes and he said no. He couldn't even get a discount on a MINI but could make me one heck of a deal on a new Mercedes. I figure since he lives in the town with the dealership, if I ever need to have service for the MINI, I can just trade him my car for his Mercedes for a week. We used to do that when he worked at the Ford dealership, where I did get family discounts, when we lived in the same town. I would give him my Mustang and leave with a Porche 911 Targa.

Almost two years after taking delivery, I had my car in for minor repairs today. I went to a different dealer than the one I bought the car from, but they still offered up a free loaner car without me asking. Then, when I picked the car up, the SA gave me a nice portable detailing kit. It's in a plastic blow-molded clamshell case with a handle, and has a wash mitt, a microfiber towel, two sponge/microfiber applicators, and BIG (16 oz) bottles of the following:
1) Water-based tire dressing
2) Vinyl/leather protectant
3) Sudsless fabric soap
4) Car Wash Concentrate
5) Paint polish/sealant.
It's labeled "Hendrick Autoguard Car Care Kit", but I think Hendrick owns a bunch of dealerships in the area, so the actual products are made by someone else (don't know who) and just labeled with the Hendrick name.
I'm pretty much already set for detailing chemicals since it's kind of a hobby/obsession for me, so I don't have any use for the kit, but I was still pleased and surprised.

What most of the posters on this Thread are refering to is a package shipped to new MINI Owners from MINI-USA with a varity of 'goodies'.
Apparently some of us get left out of this program, as it usually takes from six weeks to three months and I am now in fifth month and still waiting.
Guess I will need to phone and remind them, only thing I was promised was a 'Card' for the MINI Towing Service, but others seem to get more.
