yeah...i was having fun. but this subject has popped up before. and i didn't want to be one saying "search your feelings...use the search button, luke".
besides, my money was riding on robin or ryephile to post a real link/photo.
I got a chuckle out of the secret compartment pics. Life's too short to go through without smiling every chance you get or not trying make someone else smile. or
Very cool. So the compartment comes standard? Do you open it by pushing down on the interior panel?
Dp, with all the bickering (real and playful ), I don't think you got answers to your questions. Yes, it's standard and is opened the way you say. Some are "stickier" than others--there seems to be a "sweet spot" that you'll soon discover. The only problem with the compartment is that it's pretty small--seems like it's just a bit TOO small for whatever you want to keep there. Also, some rattle or have a "buzz." Mine buzzes, and I periodically have to push on the door to stop it. Naturally the dealer can't hear it. It IS a good place to keep Hubby's Barry Manilow CD, though.
We do request that you keep it secret. Wouldn't want the bad guys to know about it! Kidding here--guys, don't flame me!
When I was looking to purchase my MINI Cooper S the MA pushed on the dash cover and the compartment lid opened. The optional CD changer or IPod interface goes there or can be used as a second storage compartment.
And yes I did get a chuckle out of the "secret drug compartment" in the second post.

Come on Deb, why can't we just have a little fun here? She and I'd swear she is a she got her answer pretty quickly before she/she decided to go on the offensive! Compared to some of the rude comments and replies I've seen on other sites, this one actually shocks me as after I opened the thread, and saw her question and the first reply, I got a chuckle. The very next post had a picture answering her question.
Life if too short, and I'm done! Have a great day and weekend!:D
op -- You received an answer with photo in the first few posts. Does it really upset you that someone posted something funny? Believe me, the people in the MINI forums are an absolute delight compared to some of the extremely uptight, serious (and rude) people in some of the other car forums. SMILE! :D

Silliness--really? I don't know about you, but I'm not a child and am not amused by silliness whatsoever. Light-heartedness on the other hand is something that we all can appreciate. I doubt that anyone would appreciate a silly response to a legitimate post/question. Don't get me wrong, I love Mini's and cars in general, but I don't spend my time here for the sake of being silly.
As Johnny Storm would say "Flame on!".
Sounds like you take yourself way too seriously. Enjoy that high blood pressure it brings. I'll be driving my car in the twisties and listening to the nice CDs I keep in my Secret Compartment while letting off the stress of dealing with folks that have no sense of humor.
