Finalizing new MINI config, question about colors 'n stuff
I'm finalizing my Mini configuration, planning to order next week (YAY!!!!!). Here is my current config:
Mini Cooper S Hatchback
Black body/roof
White turn signals
Chrome Mirror caps
Convenience Package
Sport Package
Xenon headlights
Rear Fog Lamp
Brushed allow interior surface (sexy!)
HiFi Speaker system
Anthracite header
My question is, with the black on black color, does anyone have thoughts on that. I haven't seen any of these on the road, and I haven't seen a lot of configurations on this site with those colors. Any caveats about this color mix?
I would like a built-in Nav system, but with the cost ($2000!) and the comments I've seen about the POI craptacularness, I'm probably gonna pass and get a nice install on a portable unit. Anyone care to talk me out of it?
Any thoughts/advise on my configuration? Any essentials I'm missing? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Just make sure you've seen the Astro Black in person. If you're expecting a true black, think again. Don't rely on a photo (although there ARE some on here where you can really see the blue) Some love it, some don't. I was really leaning towards a black car with a white roof (my "tuxedo" version), but once I saw it in person, it was too "blue" for me.

I think the true "MINI look" has to include contrasting colors. Some like body/top the same but for me it just doesn't look right. Also, be prepared for black to show dirt, pollen, streaking, etc. Black does look great when it's perfectly detailed but with black that can be a full time job. Just my opinion.

Thanks for all your feedback. After looking at a black model at the dealership, I definitely noticed the blue tinge, and decided against it. My new configuration is Dark Silver (thanks for the suggestion MINImizeMe) with a black top, black stripes, with a Chrome mirror. I think the look is pretty sharp.
Thanks for your input and help. This is a great forum!
