ABCJH4, sorry about that. Its noted in the minutes. SHE.
Mini88: Also noted in minutes. Change all instances of color to "colour"
D-Unit, LOL. Yes, I suppose I cant argue with my own scientifical logic. Purple haze may indeed be the fastest Mini on the Colour/Wavelength inverse speed proportion chart, however, we are still running test on weather the name of the colour itself has any effect on speed, as which the lightning and laser would still be the fastest.
Red Dragoon, Sorry, we play backgammon here.

Now that we've determined (both scientifically and otherwise) that the CR/W's are the fastest color combination, could we please get on to some of the other more important issues that the "yaddah, yaddah, yaddah" club was supposed to solve? I will defer to JolyRogr and the other exalted poobahs as to what those things might be, but I do believe it's time to move on.

Yes, Viola and I agree. We would like to make our first steps toward World Domination through this organization and feel that it would behoove us to begin elimination of other, unworthy brands of motor vehicle. We thought perhaps it might be wise to start off with ad campaigns that will make people feel very, very bad that their cars get worse gas mileage and handle like pigs.
Shall we have a vote on it?

I wholeheartedly agree. So, the decision is final. Lightning Blue is fastest. Seconds? Aye. Motion passes and is logged and closed.
Next topic of business that seems to have the boards here all a twitter:
"Here is my order... what do you all think and am I missing anything?"
This is also a very perplexing topic to me. Should I defer my buying decisions to others? Perhaps I should dole out my money to all the other Mini owners and they can vote on what car and options I'd get. Maybe Jimmy from Kalamazoo knows what upholstery option will most suit my tushy. Or maybe I could roll dice and bet what options I'll end up with. I thought I was supposed to buy what I like?
Decisions, decisions.
Besides, its a moot point anyway. Everyone knows that you should get every option available and throw as much money at your Mini as is possible. After all, you'll be saving so much on gas.

Hmm. An ad campaign. Well that seems to be right up my alley. I think a campaign based on how moronic other vehicle drivers are due to the gas guzzling pig factor is a great idea. I'll consult my our vice president and under secretary to the rear admiral, abcjh4 and we will come up with a battle plan.
(Just don't tell anyone that I'll have to kick my own *** when I drive my other car which is just about at the opposite end of the spectrum from the Mini. 1996 Land Rover Discovery. about 9 mpg. Though it too hails from jolly ol' England so at least that is a plus).

Red Dragoon, Sorry, we play backgammon here. -- Jolyrogr
To Jolyrogr, to whom these presents shall come, Greetings:
It is with no small amount of regret that we inform you that your Backgammon pieces got trampled by the Knights. Those silly buggers had pushed the Sports buttons on their saddles, you see. Those few remaining roundhead pieces that survived the first onslaught sought shelter in the castles but, alas, got rooked. The bishops officiated, and those valient backgammoners who had fallen en masse upon the Field of Honour were interred in said field, where the poppies grow.
Though with no small felicity of expression we applaud how nobly they fell, pawned though they were among the wedges in The Great Game, we do note that your Dominion, sadly, is left lacking an Official Game.
Might we of the Checkerboard Brotherhood recommend Chess?
And for the record, tis hereby stated and avowed that Chili Red is the hottest colour, the fleetest colour and, indeed, the colour with the most torque.

Members and Guests:
I am appalled that this thread has expounded for at least 62 posts bemoaning colour choice and trivial conclusions or consequences. No matter how well intended, such nonsense pales into insignificant drivel compared to fundamental heart rendering concerns and debates over MCS v. MC or Auto v. Manual ... First Gen v. Second Gen.
Enough ... let's get back on topic by addressing MPG in 4th @ 2250 RPM v. MPG in 3rd @ 2733 RPM ... surely an issue worthy of 75 or more posts as would be each of the topics cited above.

Please excuse my intrusion...but I felt overwhelmingly compelled to add my 2 pfennigs and farthings to the cause:
1.) I notice a disturbing preponderance of Chilli Reds on here - JOLYROGR, I think they even outnumber your particular favorite variety. While I won't dispute the fact that Chilli Reds are fast -- I mean, they ARE Minis under the skin after all -- only BRITISH RACING GREEN actually has a connotative "fast" word in the title. SO.... BRG is actually the fastest. But since we're so uppercrust and classy, we don't like to rub it in and remind everyone constantly. But I thought I'd just let you know.
2.) Along the same lines of class...Why not continue the ad campaign initiated by Mini already? They're very subtle; they don't downplay their rivals, they just run them over with intelligence, beauty, practicality, and Mini-ness. I vote for subtlety.
3.) I'm a fan of 3rd gear - it's great for down-shifting. I vote to keep it. HOWEVER, if we're debating gears, I vote that ALL manual transmissions MUST be six gears or nothing!
Motor on. Arrggghhh (like the pirate-like noise.)
