For some reason, I just have to imagine that every MINI owner loves their MINI and it's not just an appliance to get you from point A to point B.
You have to draw a line at yuck! That's why! I'd consider a civic but no way on a Fit, Yaris, etc. While some may not care..I doubt they want to drive an unattractive car.

I got a record 4 waves today . Amazing! Really made me feel like part of a unique group of people. Of course it made me wonder if my car was dragging something behind me or if it was smoking or something strange was going on... Not use to that many waves if any on one day!

Here's my question.

Why a wave and not a thumbs up?

Beside, the thumbs up is the universal seal of approval by car enthusiasts.

Actually I had 2 waves and 2 shakas. A shaka is a Hawaiian sign that looks like the attached picture. It means "all right", "cool", "smooth", etc., and of course Aloha.

I still wave at any MINI or Mini that I see no matter what!

But I believe that you don't have to wave specifically, you could thumbs up, or peace sign, or shaka hang loose, nod, tip your hat, stick your head out the window and stick out your tongue, a low five (hand directly down out the driver's window), honk --beware of safety and cops--, flash your fogs/lights, etc.etc...

Today when leaving Vista MINI a R56 MY/B MCS with an antenna ball on it (enthusiast no doubt ) drove by and as I caught up to him at the stoplight he was in the left turning lane and I honked my horn twice and he gave a wave back and I waved too.Granted I saw maybe 4 others on the road also but driven by old people though.

So that makes a total of 2 waves I got in the past 6 months now since I bought Scrappy.

Better than a wave?

The other I was waiting to make a left when a Clubman slowed and flashed his lights letting me make my turn. There was a long stream of cars coming so he really did me a favor. Of course he got a big wave in return.

Talk about MINI love!

I have to confess that as I am still MINI-less, I grumble and scowl with jealousy at every MINI I see on the road. Soon, though, I promise to wave enthusiastically!

Two waves and a high beam blink today. My part of Portland is a Mini hub. Yesterday, near my house, I shared wave with a MC passing, looked in my rear view and there was a MCS smiling.
