Does anyone know if the suspension is tuned so closely to the very stiff sidewalls of the RFTs that when one ditches them in favor of non-RFTs that the handling of the car is degraded in some way?
I can't speak on the MCS..but on my 335 I didn't lose any handling but did pick up a much nicer ride. I just replaced the tires on my Honda Fit Sport..softer sidewall but grips better..IMO I like a hard sidewall with no wobble.
I won't say that the tires were the main limiting factor, but I was the slowest mini at the last autocross I attended. I was the only one on the stock runflats. The guy on Hoosiers was second on raw time for a full bodied car, hundredths behind an Elise. I've since ditched the runflats, and the ride is much nicer. I'll be running again the weekend after next, will let you know if it feels better at the limit. I expect it will.
