I might trade in my car for an R56. Can you guys help me out with some questions?

1. Is TCS Standard on all S models? From what I understand DSC is a $500 option.

2. Is black leatherette a no cost option? I only see grey/black leatherette on build your Mini online, not solid black. I did see solid black leatherette at the dealer but forgot to ask if it was a no cost option.

3. Were there any changes from MY07 -> MY08?

4. Are there any expected changes from MY08 -> MY09?

5. When are the 09's scheduled to be released?

6. Does an MSRP out the door price seem fair for the car? I live in NJ where tax is 7%, and I'll only be taxed for $10k or so after my trade. Seems very fair to me, I've never paid more than MSRP out the door for any car I ever purchased.

7. Realistically, if I ordered my car today about how long should I expect before it arrived here in NJ?

Thanks

1. Yes
2. AFAIK there is no solid black leatherette. The two tone color is almost all black in person.
5. Great question, I hear early September, looking for more info.
6. MSRP is common, some get a few hundred off. Lean on them for some free mats or accessories.
7. I was told 6-8 weeks, my experience now is more like 8-9 weeks.

Good luck.

thanks. i forgot to ask, overall how reliable are these cars?

is this the kind of car that can be driven agressively day to day with the occasional auto-x pretty much headache free? i browsed through the problem section, nothing really caught my eye.

According to the later CR auto guide the Mini gets above average to excellent in everything except 'power equipment'

First time that I have seen CR recommend a Mini

I've seen as little as 4 1/2 weeks, depending on dealer allocation on the east coast. We lefties have to wait for the cars to go through the Panama Canal...
