Is my Rain Sensor faulty?
Bimini is two weeks old and has about 900 miles on her so far. We've had our first rain here in Dallas, off & on misting coming home this evening. The automatic wipers were set by the dealer (or factory) at #3 (3 dots on). I've tried all 4 variations and there seems to be no difference. The windscreen has to be nearly polished dry for the wipers to stop. I'm wondering if the sensor is busted. The little plastic cover was not installed very well over the sensor and it certainly doesn't seem to be doing much. At this point, I'll do intermittent wipers myself until I can get it into the shop.

Try adjusting the sensitivity and see what happens. I know I had issues with the factory setting when I first received mine. The slightest little sprinkling would cause the wipers to go nuts. I think mine is at either 1 or 2. If that doesn't fix it then you may indeed have a faulty sensor.

DOH! If I'd have read the MINI secrets booklet, I'd know how to use my car DOH!
I was trying to operate it the same way as my wife's 2006 MCS. Haven't had more rain yet but tests using the button on the END of the stalk seem to work. I had been pushing it up one time. So many little subtle things to learn.
But the good news is - We passed 1200 miles today. Break in is complete and I'm starting to get to play with the turbo!
