Are you bored with your R56?

I know these have only been out for what a little less than 2 years? Anybody bored and wanting to try something new? Please don't take this as an insult..this is probably one of the least boring cars on the road...I have an 08 LiB MCS on order Just looking to see if it "fades". Happy Motoring!

There are so many options and mods for the Mini that I think most owners make changes to their cars and never get the chance to get bored with the same old ride! The possibilities are endless...

I'm bored waiting on it to get built. When I do start getting bored with it, I just may have to void the warranty.

I have an 07 MCS. I got it a year ago and it definitely has not gotten boring to drive. Actually sometimes I find myself preferring to drive it on a nice day rather than my Harley. Not always but sometimes. It's just soooo much fun to drive. I wish I'd have gotten one a long time ago!

It never fades!

When I totalled my R53, I had a chance to get something different and new, but I just couldn't see myself driving anything but a MINI. No other car will excite you as much as the MINI does...there are plenty of faster cars but very few come close to the driving excitement a MINI gives.

I'm with LUCKYDUCK. I am bored just waiting for it to arrive. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and it is still on order! Not even scheduled for production yet!

Wanna get bored? I mean within a couple weeks? Buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The only excitement you'll have is trying to steer it down a mountain road at 70mph. That'll keep you busy.

No, half of why I bought the car is that it's a great daily driver that works well 'in the grind.'

The other half, is of course, the fun half.

Bored?? No way!!! MINIs still represent a somewhat rare assortment of strengths (handling, practicality, economy, and plain ol' fun to name a few) that is hard to replicate in any other car around. The other problem is that they actually out-deliver their hype, delivering this unique blend of benefits every single time I motor. I'm afraid boredom isn't easy to come by.

I love my Mini too, yet there are many cars that are exciting to drive. I also own a Porsche 930 Turbo, ..no contest, the Porsche is by far the most exciting car i've driven. Yet, that's not to say i don't enjoy my Mini, it too is a blast, just not quite as fun.

I would agree, the Mini is a perfect blend of many things. Great price, great handling, pretty good acceleration, comfortable to drive and great gas mileage. It's a perfect blend of everything.

If by bored you mean can't stop smiling while driving it, then yes I'm incredibly bored.

I'm not sure I'm bored with mine, so much as I really dislike one aspect of the car and there's no getting around it: FWD. It's been nearly 15 months driving my 07 Cooper S and I can say I sorta wish it would disappear so I would have an excuse to get another RWD car. No matter what I can't get used to the feeling of FWD. It's just not fun as much in corners. :(

Sadly, I can't think of a new RWD car I want. I want a freaking e30 sized car with 21st century tech. Catch-22.

My wife just bought me some mods for the Cooper this past weekend. I'll probably return them as a sway and strut tower (certainly not the armrest) aren't gonna mask the car's one failing.

That's what I was a little worried about..I'm coming from an E90 335I. I had an 06 Civic Si before the 335 so I guess I can get used to FWD again. Actually my wifes car is a Honda Fit Sport so I'll be ok. Can you pick up an old miata or something for a few g's? That's my plan down the road..get a little beater track toy..

I wanted to buy a Miata last year (and through my wife's work we got a great price) but my wife informed me that she would never ride in it with the top down. We live in San Diego! You can't have a Miata and never put the top down...that's like dating Halle Berry and insisting she wear a mumu.

It's been 11 months and 1 week. I wouldn't say I am bored but I am annoyed by the power dip at 2600 rpm.

its a slug when trying to take off aggressively... but when the turbo kicks in it makes it all worth it. I think I need to add a CAI or other alta goodies to keep me excited about this car.

To participate in the thread:
I am still thrilled with my '07, and I still miss my '02. The MINI rocks.

Bored...No. I find my car very engaing?!?!? Is that the right word? The only thing I may get wistful about it is more power. But if I wait long enough, the MOD squads will get something done that is bulletproof. I just have to wait.
I'm also waiting to change out my runflats and get lighter weight rims to see how that changes he handling. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my car.

For example...I have a Z4 loaner right now...Great car. It has the 3.0 so the power is there, and it is very stable. But boy does it feel HEAVY. And the steering feel is not as precise as my MINI. Don't get me wrong, the Z4 is an great car...it just doesn't feel like my MINI. Maybe if I spent more time with it I would get more out of it...but I'm not sure I'd want one.

Like I said in another thread, if I get bored, I change the oil, I supposed if I am REAL bored I'd pull each wheel and get rid of all that damn brake dust. I haven't got real bored yet!

Yeah, I'm just passing 7800 in my first four months, so I may not have much to add vis-a-vis how much fun these cars are...

Wait a minute. I just drove 7800 miles in four months!
