Hello everybody! After a few months of research on here I finally ordered my Mini on Saturday June 7th...build is as follows:

Standard Mini
Mellow Yellow
Black Roof/Mirrors
White Turn Signals
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package
DSC
Automatic Trans.
Standard 15" rims/tires
Front and Rear Fog Lights
Xenon Headlights
Lounge Leather Carbon (rode in a friends and he had these, very comfortable)
Anthracite Headliner
Black Sport Stripes
Mud Flaps
Black Jack roof and side scuttles
license plate frame

Paying MSRP but got floor mats, black jack sun roof decal thrown in for free

I am in NJ and MA told me I would have the car in 4 to 5 weeks, (6 weeks max he said)
It is now a week later and car is still in order status. I called miniusa number and they advised that it has been scheduled for week 27. 4 weeks later!
Rep on phone said it was not definite date though. Is this normal?
How long does the process usually take?

I am a bit of a jam as to get this Mini, I sold my other car and am now borrowing one. I told them I would have the borrowed vehicle until mid-July only. that doesn't sound like it will happen.

I called MA about this and he advised I would have the car by then.

Any ideas?

im in pretty much the same bind....my SA said week 28 when i ordered the car so thats what I thought I would be getting, but when I called ASKMINI they said it's still ON ORDER and thats what the MINI website says at well.

I didnt borrow a car but am trying to sell my current honda civic on craigslist and was going to rent a car until the new one arrived, but now it seems the cost of a rental is going to be insane.

Yes...I checked into rental before I managed to borrow car.
Rent a wreck was the cheapest I found and they wanted about $1300 for a month.
I honestly don't know what I'm going to do.
My MA told me that they have alot of production slots because they are a high volume dealer and that it would be 6 weeks MAX. Thought this seemed right too as I am in NJ.
Mini site and rep on phone both said it is in order status but rep told me week 27 productution but nothing confirmed.
Dealer has been amazing up to this point. I would hate to think that they BS'd me.

 

did anybody else have a MC take weeks to go into productions status?
Is what I am being told normal?

I ordered a Mini on June 4th and it went into production this past monday, June 17th. My dealer indicated to me that I probably won't be driving away from the dealer until mid to end July. It's a long wait, but It's worth it. In the meantime, all I do is scan these boards

 

I ordered mine on May 24th and started production on June 5th. week 24

 

Ordered 5.29.08
Completed production 6.11.08
On Vessel 6.13.08
Due at port 6.26.08

Yeah baby.

 

I see some people who have ordered after me and gotten production dates way ahead of me already.
Phone and web is still showing in order status. This is what rep told me also. but production scheduled for week 27 but that info is only tentative???
I though my delear had more production slots as they are higher volume....
