My "building my MINI" thread

I'm trying to decide on final specs for a MINI and figured I'd share them with everyone to see what people think.

MINI Cooper S
Lightning Blue body
black roof/mirrors
black bonnet stripes
Cold Weather package
Convenience package
DSC
LSD
6spd manual transmission
16" bridge spoke
Xenon headlamps
rear fog lamps
Cloth/Leather: Pacific Blue
Anthracite headliner
Piano Black interior surface
Pacific Blue color line
Hi-Fi sound system

Some notes:
  • The colors are all pending some test drives and seeing them in person. I'm not sure about the Pacific Blue seats and color line - I'm also considering doing everything black for the interior.
  • Also not sure about Chrome Line interior, but given I won't have chrome mirrors or the grill, it seems like it may look silly. Still, will check it out in person.
  • Wheels - I'm not crazy about any of the "free" wheels, but seeing as I'll need snow tires for the winter I'll probably buy a set of aftermarket wheels myself and put snows on the stock ones.
  • Navigation - I'm really torn here. I've spent a while researching it. The "navigation" features aren't really of any interest to me, however having that nice LCD and being able to control settings and see data is very appealing to me. However, the $2,100 price, plus $500 for Auto AC is pretty steep. If I do go this route, I could add the sunroof for just $500. I'm hoping playing with it in person will help decide. It's just a LOT of money.
What do you all think?

Sunroof was a 'must' for me, so took the HiFi and Auto Air in the package.

Would not have ordered either alone, but now love the A/C and the Radio is nice.

For my GPS needs, Portability is a MUST, MINI even offers a 'Factory' kit to install a Garmin NUVI Portable.

Perhaps your Dealer will have a car with NAV Package for you to see, it may be something you will like.

For the nav, I'm not really that interested in navigation as I am the other features that it provides. I'm thinking it may not be worth the ridiculous cost, though. I'll play with one to make sure.
