What color are your rear turn signals?

I've seen a lot of red rear turn signals on Minis lately.
Is that the way they come now?
Their web site says that the white is an option to the standard orange, but it seems like all the new ones I see are red.

you have the brake/park light/ tail light lens which is red, and then you have the turn signal..it is either orange or white depending if you order the $100 clear turn signals option. It is not a clear housing lens like an IS300 or RX300..make sense?

Mine are mostly red with a white part in the middle. No orange - ick. $100 well spent.

They were red for the 05-06 model years. If they're red you're probably not looking at an R56.

What's wrong with orange, that's the way turn signals are supposed to be. Much better than red which makes them look like an American car.

Nothing inherently wrong with it, just some people (myself included) don't like the look. The light still blinks orange (orange bulb).

If that's not a politically correct response, I don't know what is

The white turn signals are still orange when activated (is orange a law?). There is a white lens on the outside that masks the orange light when not in use. I have the white signals and I definitely think it is a good look and a $100 well spent.

Well, living in America, it kind of is an American car. But I haven't seen orange turn signals on the back of a Euro-spec car in a long time.
No orange is my personal bias though, I just don't like the color. At all.

It's an option for good reason, no doubt. My MINIs have always looked better w/ some amber, but some may have other preferences....and we all know MINIs are all about that!!!

Actually there is a law in the US, but I'm not certain about the exact text. I think it requires amber turn signals, but red may be acceptable, too, because of older vehicles on the road. In fact, a colleague of mine was ticketed because the amber bulb emulsion was no longer effective on his Volvo. It was dried, cracked, & peeling off so his turn signals were pretty much white.

My Piper has a clear lens with amber bulbs. It continues the red-white contrast of the body & roof nicely.

My rear directional signals are orange, which match the ones in the side scuttles.

I would imagine that someone who customizes their car would have an issue with the appearance of a color that's nowhere else on the exterior of the car. I feel as though they throw off the look on my car and being someone that enjoys a cleaner look, I went with the clear lights.

I actually took it a step further. My front and side turn signals light up white and my rear ones flash red but appear clear (silvervision style light but red instead of amber). I would have preferred clear flashers all around so everything would match but clear flashers in the rear are obnoxiously bright and are inconsiderate to drivers behind me.

As for the legalities, forward facing turn signals must be clear or amber, sidemarkers need to be amber, and rear facing turn signals must flash red or amber. That only applies for CA so check your states VC to be sure.

I've never seen the appeal of white lenses for lights (turn signals or otherwise), but I'm definitely not fond of red turn signals. I did muse with the idea of picking up some UK spec light clusters for Quentin so I could have proper coloured turn signals. But the UK spec turned out to not be orange either.

I have orange. It looks better with the mellow yellow paint.

Out of curiosity, what are the UK spec light colours?

Same with me. I thought the funky clear/white fad passed a few years ago. I guess not.

Does anyone have pictures of the white side markers? Ideally on BRG, but really, anything will help my curiosity.

There is a picture of my white side turn signals in my gallery, if you're interested... and it's on a BRG too.

(and I too prefer the white tail turn signals..)

I'd expect to find amber, but the 06 Cooper-S we hired had white lenses. I can't remember what colour it lit up, but I have a horrible feeling it was red which would be very weird for a UK spec car.

Of the 2 we hired last year, one had amber, one had white (presumably amber underneath).
