Tested a CS and I have a question.

I drove an '08 CS today. In third gear (manual) when I would hit 6000RPM the engine would react almost as if it was upshifted. The sound change was VERY noticeable. It's a bit hard to explain. The salesmen noted it, but did not know what to say, or if it was normal. If I'm not mistaking redline is 6500 so it should not have been fuel cutoff.

Thanks all.

Was it under full throttle. If so, the clutch might be slipping until you get to 6000 rpm when the torque tapers off.

Heavy on the gas, but not full throttle. The car had less than 100 miles so I would hope the clutch wasn't slipping. It didn't seem to be as we were accelerating right along with an increase in RPMs. I should have payed closer attention to see if the RPMs dropped when it happened. It was very odd.
