Ok, I have been WAITING to share a new discovery with someone, and this seems like the perfect place.

Ready?

Girl Talk.

New album released in 2008, Feed The Animals. This is AMAZING MUSIC. Girl Talk, aka Greg Gillis, is a "mashup" DJ, sampling 30-40 modern pop songs per track, creating something entirely new. It really is a fresh sound, even if you don't listen to the radio/pop music (like me). This music does two things: 1) keeps you on your toes listening/trying to recognize the next sample, and 2) makes you want to DANCE. Check out the link above, you can download the album for free (name your price sort of thing, like Radiohead). It is SO GOOD.

Motoring tunes (from the playlist on my iPhone).

All Summer Long - Kid Rock
Returner (yami no shuen) - Gackt
Paranoid Android - Radiohead
15 Step - Radiohead
Like This - The X-Ecutioners
Dive For You - Boom Boom Satellites
Ob La Di, Ob La Da - The Beatles
Revolution #1 - The Beatles
Living Dead Girl - Rob Zombie
Dragula - Rob Zombie (mix from The Matrix soundtrack)
Feel Good Inc - Gorillaz
Also includes the entire album "Dig Your Own Hole" by The Chemical Brothers

I really dig Boom Boom Satellites and it's one of Viola's favorite motoring tunes, so here's the link to the vid for "Dive For You" on youtube. If you've seen Appleseed, then this song should be familiar.

One of the greatest bands of all time!!! Got all their albums loaded in the ipod.

8th row @ Bank Atlantic Center last January and suprisingly they did not play under the bridge. Thats ok they still rocked it!!!

Wow,

Looks like a lot of "alternative" music is being listened to in MINIs. I would have never guessed, I would have thought that most owners rock out to... top 40 stuff...

Seriously though, I enjoy good spirited music, and many BPS... but...

There is nothing like listening to really slow music, whilst driving very fast:

Central Park West: John Coltrane
My Favorite Things: John Coltrane
Eyes of the World: Grateful Dead
HC Sunshine: Grateful Dead
Any Leonard Cohen
Any Tom Waits
Any Steely Dan (faster, but bada*ss)

Somehow, even when breaking the laws of physics, listening to some smooth, mellow jazz... slows down the world (and road) around you, and lets you drive like magic...

I dare anyone to try it and say otherwise...
