New MCS 08 Which OEM tires did you get?

Anyone who took delivery recently of an '08 MINI Cooper S can you post which tires you got (non sport package orders)?? Tirerack lists the these 3 possible as original equipment
Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST RunOnFlat
Goodyear Excellence RunOnFlat
Continental ContiProContact SSR

My MA at the dealership doesn't know; also, I asked him if I could order my new MINI without the runflats (all-seasons instead) he said no you can't)

Reason why I want to see what's up with this is because I would like to have the car come with all seasons instead of the "high performance summer" tires....considering I live in NYC.

From what I remember all 16" wheels and above are runflats. You can choose all seasons instead of performance when you place your order.

Get the cheapest OEM and then replace them with non run-flats . You can sell your run flats on this forum easy.

Mine are the Contis, I think they are the only tires you get if you go with the 16" all season runflat option.

I got the Goodyear Excellence RunOnFlat. I made the mistake of getting the all seasons on Quentin, they were horribly slidy. Luckily here we don't really get winter, so summer tires are not a problem.

You can't order non run-flats with MCS because there's no room for a spare.

No sport package.

And the stock tires that came on my MCSa are 17" Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST runflats.

My "spare" is a Dynaplug kit and a mini tire inflater.

The default tire with the sport package is a 17 inch summer run flat however a 17 inch all season run flat is a no cost configurable option.
I got the web spoke wheels option and the all season tires were not allowed with that option.

Would I have had to specify that I want all season run flats?

is there a cost to get the all season tires?

are the performance tires bad in the rain and snow and ice?

No extra cost if the are an option with the wheels you order.
Performance tires are known as "hockey pucks" when the temperature gets under 40.

Don't have my car yet but I should within the week, anyhow I thought about getting all seasons instead of run flans and my MA told me that the all seasons were also run flats. Didn't sound right to me but he is from England and is on his fifth Mini so you would think he knows his stuff. Any truth to his story?
