Anyone hear anything about this yet? I'd like to see some details, but it doesn't look like its official yet.

The above link is interesting and from there, I got to spend an informative 90 minutes watching this online video {Who Killed The Electric Car?}
Now I wonder if the Oil Companies will bail GM out of bankruptcy??
I guess we know the answer to that

That is a great video. Yep, Great but SAD. I think we will see more autos like this in the future especially with rising fuel prices. I wouldn't be so sure about that. One of the best ways to reduce oil prices is to reduce global consumption and vehicles like this are part of the answer. That's the whole point , they don't want to because their making too much money on OIL!
These cars will not be for sale in CA, just for lease. We can hope, but either way it's a WIN!
Probably like GM did with their electric cars, lease for a couple of years and then return to GM, no option to buy. Do you really think Mini will crush perfectly good cars because they worked so well and got to be too successful?

Yep, my wife and I watched that video about a year or so ago when it first came out.
I too have no sympathy for GM and the poor state of their company. They sold out to the oil co's for a quick buck. Had they continued to perfect the EV-1 they'd probably be in great shape as a company.
The other thing that really bothers me is GM's pathetic "green" advertising. They keep touting how green and inovative they are. They keep showing the "Volt" concept car in their ads (which is not for sale) with flowers blooming, animals dancing and blue skies w/ puffy clouds. I think their best vehicle gets around 33mpg, and most get around 19mpg. Oh, and the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid is a joke, it gets 22mpg -and it's a hybrid?!!!! -wtf??? why even bother w/ the hybrid technology in this vehicle w/ such poor mileage.

:) :) "What's good for GM is 'good' for the Country" :( :(
Shortly after the first 'fuel crisis' (while we stood in line, if Gasoline was available while the Full Oil Tankers Anchored 'out-of-sight' off-shore,
due to overflowing storage tanks) GM quickly brought out the worst excuse for a Diesel Automobile ever produced.
GM had taken their 'big-block' Gasoline V8's, upping the compression ratios to 20-1 and installing diesel injectors,
what a formula for failure and that Killed The Diesel Automobile in America to this day.
That {Who Killed The Electric Car?} Video does place a great deal of the blame at GM's feet,
but many others (Ford, Toyota, Honda, Oil Producers and most of all, our Governments)
were also involved in this debacle of GREED.

Our LAST GM PURCHASE was more than twenty-five years ago.
Wish I could say the same for petroleum but with the MINI;
my gasoline use is less than a third of then, at ten times the unit cost.
For my 'professional' life, I operate one of the most efficient Turbine Aircraft,
but that 'certified' kerosene is now passing $7 per gallon.

Fuel costs
Last year, My Average cost was $4.48, 2006 was $3.95 and 2004 was $2.85 (24-30K Gallons a year @74.6 GPH total). I do not 'tanker' fuel and use 'contract' when available.
