Need Photos: Chrome Line Interior vs. None

Can somebody post photos of the Interior with Chrome line and without it?
I didn't order my mini with one - thinking it wasn't a big deal, but now I'm confused if i should of gotten it. I am not sure what the normal trim looks like now...

Thanks

No Chrome

Here is mine without the chrome.

My take is you either like it or you done (the chrome option).

My first instinct was that it didn't do it for me, so I left mine original.

Best of luck. (If the attachment didn't upload, it is the first pic in my gallery)

The MINIUSA build site has a very good interior shot, and you can toggle the chrome line trim on and off to see the difference. I have an interior shot in my gallery that shows some of the chrome trim pieces, just click on the "gallery" link to the right of my signature. The standard painted silver is nice, I thought the chrome might be a little more durable, but it's more a question of personal taste. By the way, it would be very expensive to add, as a lot of the dash and door trims need to be disassembled and swapped out to add the chrome trim.

You can look it two ways:
No chrome line: the trim matches the painted silver (matte finish) on the steering wheel, center console, and armrest (if you have one).

Chrome line: trim matches the shiny bits of your door handles, button for the glove box, and gear shift and e-brake.

Me, I like chrome and went with it.

For me, it will be a must have.

But then again, I miss chrome bumpers.

Ya, I'm old school.

I wish there was an "aluminum line" that would replace all the plastic bits with said material.

Thanks for all the responses! You've all been very helpful.

miniclubman, I can't seem to figure out where I can toggle the chrome on and off?

Go chrome, the other finish looks cheap.

It is all a matter of taste. I got the Piano Black with Rooster Red and Antracite headliner and black cloth seats so it all came together nicely. I was not enthralled by the plasticy look with out the chrome. The only chrome i have trouble with is the outside drivers door handle wchich gives a refelction in my isde mirrors.

Seeing it in person is what sold it for me

Here is mine with out chrome

I'm not a big fan of chrome, but I do wish I had gotten the chrome line interior especially on the door around the speakers and door handles.

Oh well, I will be trading this one in when the 2010's come out!!!

We ordered the chrome, I love the look of all the shiny bits. We went for all the bling on this car. Its my reward after driving Astro vans since 1992.

On my R53 I don't have chrome, but looking at the interior of the R56, it looks like it would be a good help. Some bits and pieces are already chrome so by fully adding this item, I think it balances out the miss match.
What do you guys think?

I dont have chrome in my mini but I do like the way it looks. It brings the car back to its roots a little bit more.
i would like to see a chrome trim somehow added to the steering wheel though, to tie everything together. I think it's just a little bit to much area to not have some when all else has some.

I didn't get it on mine because I thought it would be too reflective. Since I have had mine I have seen quite few minis that have the chrome and I really like the look. Too bad I didn't have any mini friends before I bought my car to check this cool option out.

It gives the cockpit that classic feel, that usually you only get in an older car. The only other modern car that I have seen with this wide chrome trim is the mustang.

I don't particularly like chrome. Some things it looks ok, but less is more. I debadged the Cooper emblem on my car for example.

I like the chrome line interior more because I really disliked how the standard gray plastic rings looked. Just looked cheap to me.

I don't wear sunglasses and haven't had any issue with the chrome rings reflecting sunlight at me. It looks great with piano black, lounge leather, and the yellow color line!

The interior on my car now is the cheapest looking ever!! Plastic all the way! Which is another reason why i am getting the chrome, even if it is reflective, i think it makes the interior look so much better, how you say.... rich.

Mini Mania sells it for $390 for the R56. It is quite a bit of work to install it I believe. The R53 chrome from them is on sale though right now.

One thing to note, is if you get an upgrade interior surface the surround on the door handles and speakers will be the silver plastic. Not the black plastic.

Another thing to note is that the chrome is just chrome plated plastic. I much prefer the sandblasted silver surface to plastic chrome.
