R56 Sport button 'always-on' best/worst mileage figures?

the sport button does not affect your gas mileage, your foot does. all it does is tighten up throttle response and weight the steering a little heavier. if you floor it everywhere because you have the sport button on, then you will get worse mileage. admittedly, it would be easier to get better mileage with it off, because with it on, you are more likely to rev higher accidentally, etc. however, turning the sport button on will not directly decrease your gas mileage. it's all about you.

Why are you waiting until break-in is over? When my MA delivered the car he told me to always have the sport button on (from day one). It has nothing to do with break-in as long as you keep the RPMs and speed in check. The sport mode helps at any and all speeds, not just during "aggressive" driving. Turn that thang ON!!

Thanks for this thread, it was exactly what I was searching for.
I just took delivery of an S Coupe and have been toying with the Sport mode. I am used to smooth boost delivery at all RPMs (former car was a '00 Audi S4) and found that in Sport mode the car feels very sluggish off the line. That is probably due to the way I am used to driving, so I notice a HUGE difference between the 2 modes.
Since I bought the car because it delivers a great sporty feel along with great mpg, I am happy to hear that Sport mode doesn't have a huge effect.
In fact, I would guess that mpg may be worse in non-Sport because I have to push on the pedal further to get the response I'm looking for.
