I really like the sport stripes, as they break up the vast blackness on the hood and boot in a different sort of way (read: bonnet stripes). The nice thing about them is that if you do get sick of them, you can heat them up a little and peel them off. I plan on keeping mine for the life of the car. They are a dealer installed item, and I got to watch the guy put mine on (check my gallery again for a couple of photos of the installation).

Also, you mentioned the checkered side scuttles too. Go with them...they're worth the (over inflated) price. You have to buy the holder and the checkered scuttles separately, which totals $140 or so. A nice subtle way to say "sporty" without screaming it out on the roof or exterior mirror caps.

Enjoy building your MINI. Don't stress out too much. Have fun with it, and before you know it, you'll be motoring along with the rest of us!

I've never had so much fun planning/buying a car - and the best part is, as everybody knows, they are all winning combos - definately takes the pressure off!
