Finally got the MINI out to a PDX (SCCA track day) at Mid Ohio and boy was that a blast. I already knew the MINI handled well with the numerous autox ive done but I was very impressed with the straight line pull on the track. It was also nice how stable it was at that speed and how quickly the brakes pulled it to a stop. I was in the novice class, so the cars around me weren't going as fast as they could, but it was fun to pass ferraris, M3, mustang GT, evo, and very other cars with a MINI. Its quite fun how the MINI is way faster than most people think
I just had to brag that I finally got to set the MINI free on a open track
124 at the end of the back straight at Mid-Ohio. I could have been faster, if I just could make a better exit from the keyhole. Gotta love a MINI on a track.
um, 65 legally. besides a track I think 65 is about the legal limit (besides a few freeways in Montana).
Its 70 in California. Several of the freeways in the great howling nowhere otherwise known as the central valley have a 70 limit. I know, we just drove down and then up them again this weekend. I averaged 70 on Saturday from Tulare to Santa Clarita on I-99/I-5.
The fastest I've legally gone is an indicated 103 on the front straight at Thunderhill.

pretty impressive, i just found that 5th gear wasn't worth it (im all stock with yoko advans) so 115 was about it. Tried 5th once but i was braking before getting on the gas too much. Probably could get some more but then id miss the apex out. Keyhole has such a strange line, I dove in deep to about midtrack and then came back around to use all the inside curb and all the outside on the exit.
