Aero Decision

I just changed my JCW week 36 order, from the Factory Areo to the JCW Aero Kit. Good or bad decision?

great decision, the factory kit in my opinion just looks ugly.

What color is the car?

Great decision!

At first, I was looking to paint the sides and found the factory kit. Then I saw a JCW Aero Kit on a PW and fell in love.

I love the black trim- looks aggressive as hell.

Good choice!!!

It is CR/Black. I had a new 02 S and moved on after a year. I had not thought about another Mini until I spotted a second gen., went for a test drive I was hooked. The availability of the JCW was icing on the cake.

Thanks. What did you end up paying for your Invisashield installed? Is it worth it?

Agreed with everyone the JCW aero kit looks 100 times better than the factory aero kit. They should just get rid of the factory kit all together.

I kind of wish you can mix and match. I like the aero front but prefer the rear jcw aero.

I had to have the JCW Aero kit, love the way it looks, and there are not many on the road with it. I also made sure that my arches were NOT painted. It's on a boat right now or I would show you a picture. Soon my friend!

It sounds like I made the right decision. Just a few weeks to go before build.

As long as you like it, it's a good decision. IMHO, the black fenders/arches look unfinished. I much prefer the clean look of the factory aero kit. I do like the rear of the JCW kit better, though. To each his own.

I believe you can pick up painted arches for $400. It is something I have in the back of my mind for a future mod. I think that would give you the best of both worlds.

I saw the factory aero kit and the JCW kit (both pre sold cars) next to each other when I was at the MINI dealership last week and I preferred the look and integration of the JCW kit a lot better.

So wise choice on changing your order Ron.

The JCW Aero just looks more aggressive.

JCR1960: I noticed you have the Xenon Headlights. I live in a large metro. (Houston), is this a needed option?

So do I and for me it is a very valuable option to have and for $500 it is pretty much a bargain.

Went to the dealer today and also saw a factory and a JCR aero kit side by side and I couldn't disagree more. The JCW looks like an afterthought. It looks like an ad-on. Probably because it's impossible to match the factory paint perfectly while the factory aero looks so flawless because it's painted at the same time as the rest of the car's bodywork. The JCW does look more aggressive, but it was due mostly to the black grills which can be replaced much easier and less expensively.
