My MINI Cooper is a nimble and spirited car and it's powerful enough to get me where I'm going without unnecessary tire-spinning or foolish grandstanding. Sometimes less is more. Probably the best response to this whole thread. Well done.

Im coming from a '06 IS 350. Quick car. Very quick. But the reality, so I go really fast. Still not fun to drive. And poop to gas mileage driving like Mario Andretti on crack.

Thanks! I appreciate that. I certainly understand why someone would agonize over these two models. Both have their pros and cons, and it's hard to remove emotion from the equation. That, and no one wants buyer's remorse! For me, the choice was simple: I wanted to save cash up front and in the long run. I'm trying to live within my means. Only took me 44 years to get my act together. I'm simply thrilled to have a MINI...any MINI!

....and that's why these threads are ultimately useless. What it boils down to is a matter of personal choice + budget.
