You Guys SUCK.....But THANKS Hopefully!!!

Ok folks here's my story...We went to test drive a MCS at the end of July. Expecting just to test drive and have a few weeks untill the ordering could be done. Well it turns out the first of the "09"s were realeased the day before. So as of that day there were 5 slots available. So what the FLASH, we ordered. Pepper white, premium package, a few other things along with it. The one thing we definatly wanted was the body kit. Well at that point I was not aware that there was 2 different kind and I was definatly not aware of the price difference between the 2. My MA showed us the factory one and the first thing I noticed was the painted arches. And the next thing out of her mouth was the price of the JCW did not include installation. So I said lets go with the factory. Bottom line is since then I have been reading threads on here (this is my first post). People say this about the factory kit, say that about the JCW. Well Its been 6 weeks or so that I have been trying to convince myself the the factory kit was gonna work out and it looks really good. Well here's where the "thanks hopefully" comes into play. Im scheduled for production on week "37". And I have finally decided "I NEED THE JCW BODY KIT". About to call my MA and try to get that changed when they open in a few hours. My question to you all is its not to late is it???? Moral of the story is if your on the fence about ordering a certain something for your cooper, just do it!!!!! Work a few more hours at work and get what you want!!!!!! If anyone can answer my question above, much appriciated.......Thanks Hopefully!!!!

It's not too late because they install the JCW stuff at the dealer, right? All they have to do send the JCW body kit along with the car to the dealership after they produce it in week 37.

I think he just doesn't want to pay extra for the factory kit as well since he will be having the JCW put on.

If they haven't started production yet it shouldn't be too late. Push comes to shove, cancel your order and start over. The way MINI's are flying off dealer lots this won't be a problem for anybody but your patience.

Well the "you suck" part comes because this dayum site is so addicting after the order has been placed. The more threads I read about how the JCW body kit looks so good and so much better than the factory has had me thinking...hmmm...."did I make the wrong choice"............The "thanks hopefully" part comes because I freekin did make the wrong decision, the JCW kit looks sweeeeeeeeeeeet!! But no word yet on whether this change can be made or not.........:(~ the cancel option is always there tho....crap!!

I'm not up on the 2nd Gen Mini's but I had thought I read that they moved the JCW component installation to the factory since they were better able to just build it the way the customer wanted it right there than at the dealer.

Am I wrong on this?

Good call. I too ordered the JCW and was unaware of the install cost. But its something I had to have.

Im not a painted arches fan. Nor am I a premium package fan. I learned to cut corners by getting rid of packages (didnt care for any of them actually) and adding what I wanted separately. Just easier that way- I mean, really- do I need a thousand dollar package to adjust the a/c for me? its been on the lowest setting for as long as I can remember. And if not, oh, let me reach forward and twist- yea, that's not worth $1000.
