R56 Help Me Decide: BRG Versus Lightning Blue

"Geniuses choose green." - Robert DeNiro in Meet The Parents
I can't blame you for having a hard time deciding. BOTH of these colors rock! I went with Chili Red because I've admired that color for years and still haven't tired of it AND I'm a cheapo (saved $500) for sticking with a non-metallic color!
Good luck with your decision.

Thank you for posting your pics. I am planning to place my order next week, and that is my car, down to the wood wheel and anthracite.
I think the BRG/BRG is nicely understated, and the Tuscan looks so great with it. Although I think stripes look really good with the white roof, I still prefer the allover one color look.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have to ask how you like the wood wheel, and also if you have used the lumbar yet. Thanks in advance.
Back to the topic, my vote is for BRG.

Oddly enough, back on topic, we actually went to look at a PW / PW. The dealership had it cleaned and detailed before we made the 4 hr drive. It was stunning on the outside, but it had a blue interior that didn't do it for me. The blue would probably have been great in a different color car. The BRG was still wrapped in plastic over to the side. I asked them if they would unwrap it and wash it. They did. There was no question then. If I buy another MINI, and that is possible next year, it will be PW / PW. Not sure about the interior. Would like to see the Tuscan Leather interior on PW.

BRG BRG BRG BRG!!!!!!!
I have edited most all of these quotes to get out the important info w/o changing the meaning or intent to the best of my ability in an effort to not make a post a 4560987546 million pages long...
**if anyone feels that I took their op too far from context let me know and i will edit it accordingly or remove it from my post. I apologize in advance. I'm just trying to show how AWESOME BRG IS!!!
Just between the choice that the OP asked about, I think the MINI looks better in BRG than LB (and Blue is my favorite color ),
but can't stress enough;
the importance of looking at all ten color options available before making such an important selection, look at B and BC Roof as well.

Oxygen Blue, believe it or not, is also a very traditional color and is similar to classic Island Blue found on the original Mini. MINI designers themselves admit to also drawing inspiration from 70s era Porsche race cars.
That said, BRG is very nice...you will enjoy it!!

I found this link to a t-shirt that expresses the sentiment "Geniuses choose green" well.

I agree with X UH OH X; the color is a tad dark, but it really sparkles in direct sunlight. Some BRG cars I've seen look almost black until I realize it's actually dark green. The LB always seems blue to me. Very nice shade of blue. It's bold. I typically dislike threads about choosing color, but this one is interesting because I'd really be torn between these two particular colors.
Either way, I honestly believe that you can't lose!

As a MINI tyre kicker and someday owner, I vote for BRG, white roof/mirrors/bonnet stripes, Tuscan interior with English Oak and cream. BTW, can anybody convince MINI to offer the English malt leather interior in the MCS coupe? That would be absolutely gorgeous with BRG. Cheers!

Not sure about pre-2004, but the BRG was metallic in the 2004 models. (My first was almost identical to my current '07 MCS.)

Sorry to all of the BRG guys, but I went with Lightning blue. I actually got to see both, and while they were both really nice, the Blue/white was really the ticket for my tastes!

BRG all the way, especially as someone suggested with a tan interior. It is a combination that will never date.
Just look a those old Jag's, Morgan's and MG's out there
Classy
Oh well just noticed that you went the "Blue" route. Your decision is the only one that really matters. Good Luck with your new toy.

U and me both pal. and BRG has always had that metallic sheen to it (and extra $$) from day one, although a lot of purists have been clamoring for a non-metallic BRG which aint ever gonna happen.

"Got to see both..."
SWMBO's Camery looked absolutely best in Oxygen Blue, which was rare enough to not be in stock and was ordered sight-unseen.
When it arrived, she (we) loved it, made the car appear 'larger' than it was as well.
To our eyes, the MINI Oxygen Blue/White just did not look right and perhaps OB/OB would do it,
but that was not in stock to see and I wanted a 'two-tone' anyway.
MY/B was perfect and MY/W was 'three-tone'
Now a MY Camery would need a light on the roof and a meter on the dash
