Yes it is true I gotta get rid of BABY "JADE"
I am selling my baby "JADE" which is a 2008 Mini Cooper S. With a JCW Aero Kit. She has less than 1,800 Miles on her. I bought her brand new and have owned her for 2 months. This car is an absolute joy/thrill to drive, it has to be one of the best handling cars I have ever driven. The car does NOT have many moddifications done to it since i have only just passed the break in period. The mods that I have done are as follows: DDM Works Intake, Black out Beltline, 18" JCW R113's Wheels with 215/35/18 Yokahama S. Drive tires, and window tints.
I am forced to sell this car because I have just recieved a promotion with my company, and I will be relocated to Athens, Greece. The amount of time that I will stay is still uncertain. I have thought of bringing JADE with but the tax and tarriffs are just not worth for such a new car.
The car has been babied since day 1, garage kept for most of the day, has seen NO snow and even rain!!! The car is SMOKE FREE!!!
In the very few times that I have washed the car, I have always washed the car by hand using only top shelf products (detailers paradise).
The car is located in Chicago, IL. but can be shipped anywhere in the USA.
Thanks for looking and happy motoring!!

I don't know how the Chicago market is in terms of dealer asking prices, but if you are in a hurry to sell you are likely not going to get the $ you want. After all, why should a private party buy your car vs order a new one? Not to mention unless your buyer pays cash, financing has tightened up and getting a loan on a private individual sale is different than getting the loan on a dealer sale.
Anyway, congrats on the promotion, and good luck with the sale.
Finally, if there's any room for negotiation with your company get them to buy it from you and sell it.

Other than the Trib/SunTimes ads the big 3 online sites are Ebay, Autotrader online, and Craigslist, probably in that order. And don't be cheap/skimpy with the pix either. Take Paypal! Good luck!

Congrats! You'll probably have to go down around the high 20s to sell it. For $32K people can order a BRAND NEW Cooper S or non S very nicely equipped. Them are just the facts.............

I'd agree... the price is quite high. I had a 2008 MCS myself Auto Trans with Premium Package, white turns, rear fog, piano black, hi-fi, bluetooth, MF steering wheel, etc etc.... minus the JCW kit and listed it on eBay for literally 8 hours at $29,000 and a lady came to my office with cash (all verified at the Wells Fargo bank first) and the transaction was complete. So, the MINI's sell quite fast, but at that price (32,500) I can build a 2009 JCW MINI with basically every option most people get. That's brand new too.... So, it'll sell fast, just lower the price. That's advice from someone who just sold their own MINI. Best wishes!

I would kill to be in your shoes! Athens is absolutely awesome. One of my absolute favorite places (as long as you have a/c). Great food, wine and women. The beer is surprisingly good too.
Good luck selling your MINI. Way outta my price range. Have a Mythos for me.

You may only have to reduce the price 5-10% below what you have in it. I was in Chicago recently for a few days and we drove various places and I saw fewer Minis there than I do in my area of 70k peeps in a day. Do they hate 'em there or is it just the combat driving and bombed out streets that keep people from buying one?

Truthfully? I would keep it, and just figure out how to get it shipped with you to Greece... You'll need a ride there, and the motoring in that part of the world is AMAZING...just the place a JCW needs.
If it's THAT brand new, and you're reluctant to reduce the price...the price you'd reduce it TO might match the shipping/customs price, and would be more than worth it.

Who do you work for?? Are they hiring?
I had great luck selling my Subie on Craigslist. Ended up getting more than I expected for it as folks tried to out bid each other. I suggest posting it below $30,000... say $29,500 maybe... and state clearly that you are looking for a best offer. Cashiers checks are usually the best choice for a payment method.
Good luck with the sale and the promotion!
