You probably just drove over some strawberries or something... either that or there's a spirit living in your car that is telling you that you should have named your car Strawberry Shortcake...
Try spraying some febreeze through the air vents under your wipers after you start your car in the morning and let it run for about five minutes and see if that doesn't kill the odor.

I'm assuming the R56 still has a cabin A/C air filter. This is a way, wayyy long shot, but is it possible the dealer put some kind of air freshener on the A/C filter?
If nothing else, you can smell the A/C filter while you have it out. If there's some kind of smell in the A/C system, it should be very noticeable on the filter.

There's a thread around here somewhere with "cheap" replacement cabin air filters. Chances are any "funky" smells are trapped in there and replacing it may freshen things up a bit. Having a spare and changing it sooner won't be a bad idea anyway, especially if you do have bad allergies.
Oh hey, I bookmarked it.

And no, my Lewis has never smelled like strawberries.

Seriously, don't overlook this possibility. Antifreeze can have a "sweet" smell that people describe differently. Probably not but better safe than sorry.

Something that's dead that smells like fresh strawberries...???
How about this suggestion: When you picked up your car for the first time, it had already been cleaned and detailed, correct? Lots of interior car cleaners (and carpet shampoos, and whatnot) have scents to them, and the one the dealership used might've been strawberry scented. You might want to ask the dealership IF they used anything on the car, and if so, WHAT it was.

In the first-gen cars, the access panel for the A/C filter is up under the dash, on the passenger side under the glove box. I'll look on realoem and see if the R56 has it in the same place.
Although you could probably clean it fairly well with compressed air and/or a vacuum cleaner, it's actually meant to be replaced rather than cleaned.

This might be a long shot, but when I drove a Jeep, I once ran over a partially full 20 ounce coke bottle laying in the road. I later figured out that it splattered all over the undercarriage of the Jeep and every time I would get out of the car it smelled like burned sugar.
I eventually had a whole other problem with ants, though. The ants discovered the sweet residue under the car and I ended up with an ant infestation INSIDE the car. I was spraying, killing, and doing everything possible to get them out. There are so many crevices in a vehicle, I really thought I'd never get them out.
I went to a car wash that does the undercarriage blast right at the beginning and it got it off enough to not attract ants anymore.
Maybe you ran over a soda bottle with Big Red or some other strawberry beverage.
