JCW Stage 2 Exhaust on Stock Cooper S - pic and video

Well I purchased a JCW stage 2 exhaust muffler and got it fitted to my stock Coooper S.

WOW this thing sounds freaking wicked ... heaps of character.

The fitment isn't a 100% direct bolt on as the stage 2 JCW factory exhaust has a different mide resonator pipe and the muffler pipe work is angled slightly differently - but it can work with the stock Cooper S mid resonator pipe - needs a bit of tweaking and adjustments to the heat shield - otherwise it fits and works PERFECT !!

Really? I haven't heard a factory JCW in person yet so I can't tell. But compared to my wife's stage 1 JCW I actually think this is quite a bit louder - although the stage 1 JCW has a bit more crackle and burble in its tone.

NZ_M3 sounds and looks great

I also like the burble and pop when you rev the engine

I noticed in the video you posted that you got in the right side so without knowing your location I would guess maybe New Zealand from you screen name

Cheers JCR1960!! I am loving the sound - certainly gives it a lot more character without being obnoxious or too loud.

Yep - located in Auckland, New Zealand. Our factory JCW car isn't released yet - Early October, but there's already one floating around Auckland - pepper white one. I've seen the car but never heard it start up.

The muffler looks identical to the "Stage 1" exhaust, however instead of having separate adjustable tips, they're built-in.

Actually the muffler is nothing like the Stage 1 exhaust. In fact it was identical to the OEM factory Cooper S muffler - when I say identical, I mean the muffler body was exactly the same (I wish I had taken a photo - but you'll just have to take my word for it).

The only difference is the inlet pipe work is bent differently - it bends upwards rather than to the side - and the outlet is lot larger than the OEM system with nicer built in exhaust tips - hence the noise difference.

The noise maker is actually from the right tip (the burble and crackle) - the left tip is really muffed in terms of its sound cancellation (if you look inside both tips you'll see how it's resonated differently) - we covered the right tip and the muffler was almost silent ... but when you just cover the left tip you can hear it crackle and burble away.
