Word to the wise... don't slam your hood with an M7 cross brace
When I installed my JCW Stage I kit, I didn't install the JCW CAI.
I kept my DDM CAI because a) it worked and b) I had to cut the DDM intake to make it work.
Anyway, I accidently slammed my hood and the bolt that goes through the cross brace put an "outie" dent in my hood.
Pissed me off.... use PDR to remove it but need to be more careful about closing the hood.
Just thought I'd mention it...

Wasn't trying to alarm anyone, I don't normally slam my hood but it got away from me and made the dent.
I think the best thing I can do is change out the bolts to a regular hex head bolt... I think that way I can make the bolt flush with the top of the brace. Right now, the allen bolt sticks up a little higher.

OC, You must have really slammed it or maybe yours is designed differently from mine. I just used some molding putty to measure the space between that bolt and my hood and I've got at least 3/8" clearance. I'll still be carefull, but I'm not nearly as concerned as I was originally. Thanks for the heads up, though.

I did make mention that the hood got away from me, I meant to close it and ended up slamming it.
I mentioned it only because if though the hood is not normally closed in that harsh of a method, it could happen if the wind caught it or some mechanic that isn't as careful as us.
Like I said, I didn't want to alarm anyone, just wanted to make sure that no one slammed their hood in haste because they were in a hurry.

This has been discussed many times and issues of fitments and quality had been pointed out. M7 carry many nice looking parts... the question is, Do they actually do something?

OH NO! Sorry to hear! Well at least you can easily fix it. You have to get them to fix the design of that part. Who's to say a TECH won't do the same thing when you take it in for service. He won't know any better.
About almost a year into ownership of a brand new solar yellow jeep wrangler, I had the hood open, the wind caught it and slammed it back onto the windshield, putting two nice dents in the hood bulge of a once perfect jeep. Everyday I drove it, i would see the two dents. It was a painful reminder. :( I drove it for 7 years.
