Miniclubman is probably correct in the science world but in the real world my tire pressure warning did not go off when the temperture dropped to the 30's last night. I will just stick with the nitrogen in my tires.

Yes, all laws of physics are temporarily suspended whenever you turn the key on your MINI.
My tire pressure light came on last night as I was driving home. Stopped, checked all the tires...pressure dead on. Tried to reset tire pressure light by reading the instructions in the manual, but when I went into the info/setting site, then to tire pressure, there was no "reset." I drove the car as the manual suggested but to no avail.
Bottom line, the car is in my garage with no apparent low tire pressure, but the dad gum light won't go off, and apparently won't reset.
Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
Well, I got in my car this morning, and apparently during the night, Mini gremlins got into my computer and fixed the dad gum thing. I clicked on SET/INFO, then to the flat tire symbol, and sure enough, under the symbol there was a "resetting" arrow. I clicked on it and held it for about 30 seconds, then drove away. Two blocks down the road and the flat tire symbol was gone......everytning back to normal. Thanks for all your help, I was really worried that I might have to go to atlanta(120 miles) to the nearest dealership to correct this, but wala.....it's fixed on it's own, and now I know how to deal with it when/if it happens again.
My MCS w/17" crowners shows 38 on the label. I hate the RF's and reduced the pressure to about 34 all the way around, better ride for sure. Reset the TPMS and all is well.
I had to fix one of my tires last week... Did the reset once the light came on... it did not work. Checked tire pressure once again and did the reset, and the light is still on... Question... Is there a 'special' way to put the tire back on after it has been repaired? Should've i asked them to do something with the rim in order for the tire pressure light to work properly...? I'm confused and the manual doesn't say much...
