How fast must they have been going?

From today's Palm Beach Post;

"Officer Tiffany Renee Russell of Juno Beach and Lynda Kathryn Kruse of Stuart were ejected from the Mini Cooper when Kruse failed to negotiate a curve near the corner of Southwest Citrus Boulevard and Southwest Martin Highway at about 2:45 a.m. and the car went off the road and began rolling, according to a Florida Highway Patrol release. The stretch of Citrus Boulevard had just recently opened, Lt. Tim Frith said.

Neither woman was wearing a seat belt and both died at the scene, he said. It was not known whether alcohol was a factor."

I wonder if the word "Officer" suggested that Ms. Russell was a Police Officer. What ever the case may be it's sad that two prople lost there lives
because of their poor choices. If alcohol was involved it's even worse, as now any one on the road that night was at risk of dying. Very sad.

As much as I'm against drunk driving, I see no moral difference between getting behind the wheel and driving beyond your skill, knowledge of the road, weather, etc and drinking and then trying to get home; it is sad that these two women died, and it is lucky that they took no one else with them. Let this be a grim reminder that even go-karts can tumble and seat belts serve a purpose that airbags or any other safety feature cannot duplicate.

I just read it over on the Corvetteforum. One of the girls was a members niece there. Terribly sad story.

Sad story indeed...here is a link...

I find it odd that a Police Officer would be Drinking and Driving and NOT wearing a Seat Belt. I understand some have done much worse. Such a waste.

You are jumping to a conclusion:
Neither woman was wearing a seat belt and both died at the scene, he said. It was not known whether alcohol was a factor.
from the link you posted.

Did not even conclude who was at the wheel, but sad that it happened and that seatbelts may have saved those lives.

Wonder if the seatbelt warning had been disabled
