My new 09 Tire/Wheel warranty was $599, but goes for 5 years and covers curb rash!

 

My policy is: "dont insure what you can afford to replace". Tire and Wheel warranties are a great deal-- for the dealership. Unless you are very unlucky when it comes to road hazards, you will never recover the cost of the policy.

Sure, some people who live in areas that are prone to potholes or construction areas that are prone to nails, may get their money back on what they spent. But they are the minority. The dealerships push these warranties for a reason and it's not because they are concerned about your welfare.

 

Mine was for 3 years, $1000 and didn't cover curb-rash. I cancelled it the day after I drove my MINI home

 

I drive on 495, 95, 80, GSP to and from work every day so the tire and wheel warranty will pay off. Eventually.
