Any motoring or service advisor at a dealership can look up the car's specifics using the last 7 of the VIN#. If you are purchasing from a dealer they can do this for you. If you are purchasing privately you might want to find a MA/SA to become friends with and they may help you out.

I agree, you'll have to see the sticker or via the VIN. I doubt you'll be able tell about either option by driving the car yourself. I bet you could contact the dealer who sold the car (with the owner's permission most likely) and get the option printout or window sticker. I think the seller would want to do that anyway.

I had my tires off and was painting my brake calipers ..I believe I remember seeing a sticker on the shocks that said "sport" ...The sticker was on the inside of one of the shocks ...not sure if it was on all of them, but it was well hidden and only visible when I was poking around under the car.
Also, the presence of a "sport" button near your shifter is a good hint that you have the sport package installed. (you should notice a noticable improvement in acceleration response when the sport button is pressed).

The sport button is standard on all '07 up MINI's. Registering with the owner's lounge at MINIUSA.com is the easiest way to find out the original configuration.
