Where to buy hub and studs
Hey guys, I got a 08 Cooper base, got on rear hub with a strip thread. Other than the dealer where do you guys buy mini parts from? Sorry just got this car for a few months, havent shop around for oe replacement parts, yet.
I will give a call to my dealer tommorow to find out how much they want, since they are closed now.
Since I am doing the hub, I also wanted to do the stud conversion, I have been told the r56 uses 14mm lug, but I have 2 sets of hollies(i believe its 12mm), and I installed it without modification to the wheels. So just wanted to make sure that it is in fact 14mm. And where do you recommend buying the stud conversion from?

I usually buy from Morristown MINI or www.pelicanparts.com when it comes to OEM parts.
And you're correct that your MINI uses 14 mm lug bolts. The reason that the Holies worked with no problem is that all of the OEM MINI wheels from the beginning have had bolt holes that are about 16 mm in diameter, so they'll work with either the older 12 mm bolts or the newer 14 mm ones.
I think the only company making the 14-12 mm conversion stud kit is Texas Speedwerks (www.txwerks.com). I've had their kit since they came out with it, and other than a little surface rust on the threads (typical for black phosphate-coated parts), it's been trouble-free.
