I wanted to get a lightning blue 09 MCS soft top to replace my wife's 04 Sebring, but you can't get lightning blue anymore and horizon blue is UGLY. It is too muted, drive by a shopping mall and look at the colors of cars. They are all muted. I have Chili Red; if we wanted a muted color we could buy American or at least close to American made.

Currently I do not like any of the blue colors offered. I really liked lightning blue. The laser blue is too light for my tastes. Howver, I did see one in person and it did look much better then anticpated but I still would never get one. Horizon blue just doesnt appeal to me, not a fan of blue green colors.

I think mini needs to permanently put a navy blue or royal blue in there. Blue is my favorite color but mini always changes the blues up every year- very annoying.

Yea Laguna blue +1

I wonder if the water based paint with no primer used on the new new minis has something to do with the limited selection?

This is why both my MINIs have been Hyper Blue. I feel that too many cars are silver, grey, beige...MINIs need to be BRIGHT!

I know not all agree with me, but I love my blue MINI. I really like Laser Blue, too.

The world needs more brightly colored cars!

I had a Hyper blue S which was a fun color. If I had my choice though I would get Space blue. Very limited on 06s and only with a silver roof. Wish they had brought that back for the R56. Just got a midnight black myself.

Ive never even noticed how many blues there have been, but jeez!

Ive only seen one Oxygen Blue mini on the road (ahem, it was actually a parking lot) but it was really pretty. The configurator doesnt do that color justice because it is really striking in person. it reminded of this old fender guitar my dad had.

I was just lookin at some used minis online today and found a gorgeous hyper blue S. Out of curiosity i might go look a it cuz i have never seen this color in person.

Love the Hyper Blue. I still use the Hyper Blue Zipcar MINI parked in the alley behind my DC home.

I like the Hyper Blue also. I saw some at MOTD this year and loved them. My wife will have to wait for a Mini to replace her Sebring until we can find a used one or BMW changes their blue colors again.

We just bought an 08 in LIB and while it would not have been my first choice, I really like Oxy or Pepper White, now that we own the car I am very happy with the Color...plus it will lok really good with our Rays plate.

My dad has either Hyper or Indy Blue on his '05 MCS. I'm not sure which color it is. He ordered it in the Fall of '04 but didn't get it until January of '05. It's definitely a beautiful color. For me, the Horizon Blue was perfect once I saw pictures of it online, i.e. not from MiniUSA's website. My top two color choices for any car were going to be either blue or dark grey. Now I get both!

My all-time favorite Mini color is Electric Blue. I wish that that color was still being made.

My Laser Blue MCS is at the dealership but I can't pick it up until Thursday or Friday! It was such a long wait! 9 weeks!

I guess I'm part of the minority that thinks that MINI's current blue offerings are 100% better than past offerings. You've got a crazy in-your-face blue (Laser Blue), a really nice subtle gray/blue (Horizon Blue), and a cute, extremely bright light blue (Oxygen Blue). All 3 of those are great options IMO, but the plain-jane blues of the past have never done it for me (Lightning Blue I'm looking your way).

/stirs pot

Edit: My favorite has always been Space Blue though, so hot.

VicSkimmr: I'm with you... I think the Blues offered now are just fine.. BUT... they really should have replaced Lightning Blue with a blue of a similar hue, kinda like how they did with Electric Blue and Laser Blue.

Offer Horizon Blue-- but don't make it replace one of the other shades. After owning a silver MC I can safely say I am a bright colour person. I used to drive a Cyber Green VW Beetle! That was an awesome colour!

MINI needs a non metallic blue for the MCS. Indy Blue was by far the nicest blue thus far...

We just need more non-metallic colors in general. BRG specifically.

I had always wanted a hyper-blue but was willing to take the lightening blue (laser blue was too light for my tastes). I finally was able to buy a MINI and they ditched lightening blue for another I don't like!!

Anyway, I just bought a used Chili Red that had all the options I wanted and I am very happy. In a few years, maybe they will bring something more like hyperblue back and I will jump on it!

Here are the Hyper Blue and Horizon Blue side-by-side. My dad's is the Hyper and mine is the Horizon. We both love ours so I hope that you enjoy the colors that you have chosen.

There are more pictures of them side-by-side in my gallery.
