Riddle me this... parking light

So, my neighbor just came to my door and told me i had a light still on in the front of my mini- so i went out and checked- and he was right, the DRL on the passenger side was still lit...

now, my old w202 c220 benz you could rotate the light stalk to the left or right parking indicator, for use in europe for those who park over night in the street or something related to that nature...

but, i didnt know you could do this in the mini??
I opened the door and my light stalk was set to '0' in the off position, but the screen lit up blinking 'P' for the parking light at me...

I don't know how i shut it off, but i tugged on the stalk, flashed my highbeams, and when i looked again, it was off- ???

and yes, i'm in america and its a US spec mini-
i do see a P symbol on the turn signal stalk... but it doesnt mention or give any symbol as to how to activate it...

does anybody know??

Thanks

so true, an internet message board dealing specifically with Mini Coopers is a completely inappropriate venue for silly questions like that.

PS, BostonR56S I wish I could help ya but I don't have the answer. Please do post back what you find.

Yes the mini will do the same as the benz I had it on my CLK but I never recommend using it overnight you will have a dead battery if the computer doesn't shut it off first. They are really used for parking on the street for short trips.
