Uh yeah, that's why the press loves the Abarth so much. Just read the Nov. C&D. They called it "Like a MINI Cooper, only more loveable"

Bring em all on!

I love the variety. I'm sure that lots of Mini owners won't want them. But lots of people considering Minis will surely cross shop. I'd take a serious look at both the MiTo and the 500. I'm a car guy who has a Mini, not a Mini lover who hates all other cars.

Wow, this is my first post. I am not a Mini owner yet because I am saving up to pay cash. Should have the money I need by about March. Hopefully, I will be purchasing a 2007 or 08 Mini Cooper S. Neither of the two cars discussed in this thread would make me think twice about my future purchase. The Fiat looks like a Yaris. The alfa sorta looks like a Nissan but I must say it is a pretty good looking car. Alas, have my heart set on a Mini........

Welcome Cop1406! I hope you get your MINI soon, cash or not. I have an '07, and believe me, it wasn't a minute too soon.

I've had a couple of Fiats, with mixed reviews, and I've had 4 BMWs, starting with the 2002. Nothing to worry about here!

Been doing alot of research over the last 6 months and decided on the R56. Have loved the Mini since it came out and decided it is time. This will be my first drivers car that I have owned. I do own a 67 Volvo 1800. It was my wifes first car, we have had it for 21 years, great car. Otherwise we have owned Hondas and a Jeep. Can't wait to get my Mini.

Wow, what a car! I haven't seen one for...uh...decades. We have an "oldie" too--a '64 Porsche 356 SC Sunroof Coupe, which we've owned since '67. I think you'll find the MINI a bit easier to throw around.

Lets see if I can do this properly. Here is a picture of the Volvo to refresh your memory. The only thing on the car that is not stock is the Whalen **** that Doug fabricated for me. Thought you Mini guys would like that. Hope I don't anger anybody with these off the subject posts.

Great looking BRG Volvo and shift **** as well!

As I recall, some of them were assembled in GB and of course it was featured on the (British TV series) The Saint.

We had a Pepper White 1800E long ago, loved the car, but it had been abused before we bought it.

The 500 will be competition for the Smart not for MINI. It's just not in the same price/performance/luxury category as the MINI. But I agree with Dr.O.: Bring 'em all on. I'd much rather have a selection of a dozen different mini cars available to choose from rather than the hundreds of SUV models that currently exist.

I like the retroness of the new 500. If I could walk into a Fiat dealer to buy one, it may be worth looking at. I would not buy one from a chrysler dealer.

10.5 second 0-60, DAMN THAT IS A FAST CAR. I think a Prius is faster! That is so sad. Still not a MINI but will appeal to many as it is a small commuter car that will work nicely in big cities.
