Anyone put 215-45/17 tires on stock 17x7 wheels?
With the stock tire size being 205 45/17 the correct +1 tire size would probably be 215-40/17 to keep the overall diameter the same but there is a tire i've used in the past that i really like that only comes in a 215-45/17. Would a 215 fit ok on a 7" rim (fit properly, that is)? I want the side wall to be square and not have that sucked in look like when people put on a tire that is too wide for a rim. If you do the math a 205-45 has a side wall of 92.25mm and a 215 has a sidewall of 96.75mm. So I'm not too worried about the overall diameter playing any real havoc with anything. Any real world experience on this would be appreciated.
BTW, the tire I'm looking at is a Bridgestone Potenza RE070. It is an awesome tire. Long life and great traction on dry roads.

I have 215x45R17's also. They are not run flats and what a pleasant difference. They ride smoother, car handles better.I imediately noticed a difference. So now I'm getting OZ Allegrettes,14lbs ea in UT burnt orange.I kept one of the old tires and I'll have it mounted on one of the old wheels which gives me a spare.Driving from Dallas to El Paso there are many places where one is 200mi from nowhere.I'm through with run flats. Hi Pwnage, our 03 S came to us with 215/40x17 Fusions. Never heard of them either. I`ve been told Bridgestone makes them. They look about as fat as the prev picture shows. Fusions come with a little lip that tries to protect the rim from light hits. Grip wet or dry is just fine and limit easy to feel, smooth to rehook up if you over do it. If you drive in cold weather don`t buy Z rated Fusions. Lengthy warm up needed.
