'07 MCS Overheating Light

Has anyone experienced the yellow thermometer icon, then red thermometer icon, then check engine light. I know the car wasn't overheating due to coolant level, no hot smell, no leaking fluids etc. Took it to MINI on a flat back to be safe and they are looking at it. The info stored in the key said it had gotten to 405 degrees C! I'd have a puddle of aluminum under the car if it got that hot! Curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks in advance, Mike

First thing I checked was the coolant level, second was signs of leakage of any/all fluids, third thing was oil level. Oil was full, just changed by Dealer less than 100 miles prior. Heard from the dealer today and it was a part that encompasses the "electronic thermostat" and other cooling system electrical components. Part on order, hopefully car will be fixed next Monday and in the meantime I have the pleasure of driving a Korean Kadillac (KIA) provided by the warranty (Enterprise car rentals).
