MINI Dilemma - Ordering New S Hardtop

Hi Everyone.

This is my first post here, so please, be gentle. Anyway, I am looking at placing an order for a Cooper S here in the next few weeks, but I am really torn about color/appearance. I basically have figured out what I want as far as mechanicals are concerned (LSD, Sport Suspension, Web-Spokes), but I just can't decide on the cosmetics. I have a few ideas that I like, so I was hoping the NAM community could throw in some opinions. Here is what I am considering:

Option 1: Shelby Mustang GT350R inspired. Color would be pepper white, with black web-spokes and custom blue sport stripes on the bonnet, roof, and boot. I would also go with blue side stripes that say Cooper S. I am on the fence about gumball numbers on the doors and bonnet as well. (see attached pic of GT350R)

Option 2: Similar to option one, but inverted. Basically it would be Laser Blue with white stripes and black web-spokes

Option 3: BRG with white roof, checkered roof decal, white sport stripes, and white web-spokes.

My wife, of course, likes option 2 the best. She thinks the Laser Blue is "pretty." What do you guys think?

I have attached images of the GT350R as a visual reference.

Thanks!

i like option 1. Im a ford guy and, well, there ya go haha

though, i LOVE BRG..and most do. White rims are a MISTAKE on these unless you clean them every other day. I clean mine that much and they arent even white.

Id almost say get black webspokes on the Pepper white w blue stripes... would look pretty sick!

EDIT: your on it... missed 'black' in your post lol

I like option #1 as well. One of the most intimidating images to see in my rear view mirror for me is a GT500 with big old racing stripes going down the middle. I just move on over to the right when something like that comes speeding along. I assume you're going the PW/PW combo and not PW/B? I don't think you'd need the side numbers either unless you really want one. Just the big stripe down the middle would look mean to me. Just gotta make sure it's a pretty wide stripe. And any black rims with that combo would be even sweeter.

I just ordered a MCS similar to your option two. Went with silver bridge spokes though. Colors are always tough, I had no less than four that I really liked. I wanted my Mini to POP and I think the LB/W does just that. I was a bit concerned because a lot of females thought the color combo was "pretty or cute". It wasn't exactly the statement I wanted to make but after mulling over it and looking at many cars I went with it anyways. I don't think I'll be disappointed, even if people think my super cooper is a bit cute.

I like your ideas. I am thinking about Pepper White as well.

Keep in mind that you can't get LSD on a 2010 MCS (and you can no longer order a 2009).

It hasn't been removed from build sheets yet.

That would be great news. But I'd be surprised if that article had the info wrong. Does anyone have any details on this yet? Are there even "build sheets" for 2010s yet? For example, do they have an updated list of colors, etc. Or are they just guesses to be updated when 2010 info is finalized?

I think option 2 would be a little nicer, but option 1 would be a close second. Can't go wrong either way!

Thanks for the input everyone! I really am taken by option 1, but my wife does not like that one at all. She thinks that pepper white looks "dirty" and that black wheels make it look like someone stole my hubcaps... Sheesh. That is what I get for not marrying a car girl.

I checked with my local dealer on the LSD thing, and they said that it will be available through the first part of the 2010 model year. Thus, if I get my order started in the next few weeks, I should be able to get one.

Oh, as a clarification on option 1, the roof and mirrors would be pepper white as well.

Please keep the opinions coming, I am keeping track.

Option 2 is....too blue. I like option 1, but if you can't get that past the people who matter, then...heh. The British Racing Green one is nice.
