No, its Leatherette.
"I see you got leathers seats."
No, those are leatherette seats.
"This car must have been expensive, it has leather seats!"
Leather was too much, those are leatherette.
"Nice leather."
No, its Leatherette.
But it didn't take long for me to give up on correcting people.
Now I just respond to the questions;
"Don't you stick to the seats on hot days?"
No, I wear clothes when I drive.
"Won't it be cold in the winter?"
It warms up quick, I have heated seats.
"What do you think about those seats?"
I love them!
I just wonder if anyone still corrects people.

I get that confusion all the time. The MINI leatherette is the best I've seen. It was the right choice for me..... and my family.
Oh, and I still correct people. I think they are more impressed by being fooled than if I really had leather.

Love my leatherette. Cleans up easy and i think it looks better than the leather i have seen in many of the used minis on my dealers lots.

I love it its easy to take car of and it looks good. Though I never get any questions about it. The only thing I wish is more seat related then the leatherette is that you could raise and lower the front and back of the seat the just just one vertical setting.

For people who take care of their cars, this isn't a problem.

If I'd been drinking anything I would most certainly be pain-stakingly cleaning out the keyboard!

The opposite is also amusing. The MINI "leather" is so coated and impregnated with chemicals that it feels plasticky and people mistake it for vinyl.

The leatherette is of a very nice material and quality. I was very impressed the first time I sat in one. Now if they could only add the damned lumbar controls for them. I don't feel like pay thousands more for 1 small feature.

Leatherette rocks. People think it's leather and I just agree with them.

the leatherette in my Mini is as nice as the leather in my wife's Mazda CX9. soft and comfortable and very nicely done.
