Freedom is not free and this thread shows a great dialog between people interested in not offending each other. This is what makes this Country a great Nation and those of us that drive Mini Coopers united. When you tell a new Mini owner that NAM has everything in one of it's threads your not stretching the truth

So I found this page on flag etiquette that would seem to suggest the use of flag as a roof graphic would not be appropriate if we accept a decal as being equivalent to a flag. Using a decal on the side would be ok. Unclear about it being on the back.

Hey, 1 more opinion. I'm a 25yr vet who has served in combat. Even have a Bronze Star and some disability, and I have no issue with proudly displaying the U.S. flag on the car. Where did we get the idea this would be disrespectful? Nothing in Title 10, USC would lead me to think covering a sunroof would be wrong.
Here is a conscientious person asking permission to display the flag in a proud manner and we're taking issue with it? Come on, we don't live in an apartment complex in Oregon.
